The True Story of Sleeping Beauty
Once upon a time, there was a fair lady
Who spent all her time sleeping like a baby.
No one saw her during the light of day,
but they all shared with each other what they had to say.
One would whisper,"She's a beauty, but all she does is sleep."
Another recounted, "I wonder if she's tired of counting sheep."
Her neighbors never knew why she slept the days away,
But that sleeping beauty just so happened to be a successful CNA.
She spends her nights helping those in a poor state
cleaning and caring and charting heart rates.
She misses seeing sunlight, she misses all her friends,
But she knows her help will all be worth it in the end.
She comes back home as the sun rises over the sea.
Her scrubs lay piled in a basket just as she starts her morning cup of tea.
The world wakes up and heads to work while she crawls beneath her sheets
To get rest before another night of feats.
The world may put down this beauty sleeping day by day.
They may ask if there could possibly be another way.
All this sleeping beauty needs is for the world to say,
"Thank you, Sleeping Beauty, for being such a hard-working CNA.
