Trust

I’ve lost it

In other people

Just like they have in me

They yell and scream at the lies

Lies told from fear

of disappointment and of pain

they don’t trust me not to make gashes to help me sleep forever

I don't trust them not to show me the palm of their hand as it hits my cheek

I’m afraid

But

So are they

My family broke

And it started with trust
