Trust

What is trust to you?

Does it mean anything?

Is it a word or a label?

Does it actually have meaning?

I know the truth hurts,

It’s a pain that I don’t like.

But in the end it will help you

To be a better person in life.

I trust way too easy,

My emotions gain control.

The problem is I give it to those

Who treat it like a joke.

My heart has grown heavy,

My trust is now very thin.

Am I not worth the truth?

Do my words just escape with the wind?

Can’t you see all my pain?

Do you enjoy me being hurt?

You don’t even realize

How much my trust is worth.

I refuse to trust anyone,

This pain I can’t bear.

So I’ll lock up my trust

‘cause obviously no one cares.
