Trust and people

You trusted them and they hoodwinked you.
I won't utter you did wrong
Given that it’s a part of life
To make missteps

They shuttered your conviction
Beating a hasty retreat
But they never recognized who you were

Hope your moral fiber isn’t like theirs
Hope your itinerary won’t be as theirs
Moving forward is the best settling of scores

Get up and work hard
Be successful and show up
Eventually, they will proclaim your triumph
