Trust Yourself
This world is a concoction of
Violence, Hate, and Uncertainty.
You can only trust yourself.
Shelter, Food, and Companions
Are minor unlike the will to seek them.
Ah, that old phrase in my head:
“You cannot be loved right
until the day you love yourself.”
Forget your man, mother, or child.
If you can’t respect yourself
And keep getting out of bed,
What would they matter?
Forget those bare necessities.
If you don’t want to keep going
And dream about nothingness,
Why waste them on a half-dead soul?
Forget about memories.
If you don’t give yourself a name
And leave something behind,
What will they have to share?
If you are cast into the sea
Without something to show,
It’s like you never existed.
So, I cannot live without
Me, myself, or I.
You can only trust yourself.
Because Fate cannot exist
Unless you do.
