Truth

Why can't I just tell you the truth

and let these tears start falling?

Giving up my strength

and let you all see me start bawling.

My heart aches with the thought of you,

while you move on and turn their heads.

Wanting my dreams to stop splitting me in two.

I see you all crawling back into your beds.

Wishing to have a love that makes my life worth living,

but never giving.

Giving my heart and soul,

my love and affection,

my time and energy.

People all try,

but I still cry.

Tears rolling down my cheeks,

showing there are leaks.

Leaks in my system

that prove I can't be perfect,

nor will I ever be.

Looking through my mask,

wondering why it can't be removed;

I have this everlasting task,

that will never be proved.
