Truth Is

Words,

Forming in my mind,

Pen in hand,

Nobody believing they’re mine,

Why should poetry flow,

From the lips of a fifteen year old girl?

Caught in my head,

I post my words on here instead,

Mixes of 26 letters,

I place them here,

It’s better,

I could set them free,

For the world to see,

For them to take and use,

For them to abuse,

Words are precious things,

What’s spoken cannot be unsaid,

Maybe that’s why I’m so cautious,

Perhaps it’s what I dread,

Putting my heart and soul on parchment,

Only to be ripped,

Piece by piece,

Into tiny pieces,

Not broken,

Just a puzzle,

Most likely missing a piece,

Truth is,

That’s the fear of me,

Scared to share,

For fear of what others would say,

Scared it would destroy me,

Extinguish the spark inside.
