Truth

To tell the truth,

You're all I thought about today

What I would give to see your face

and rid this lonely haze.

I can only say that so much before I must accept,

That you want nothing to do with me,

or the way I dress,

or how you shook that one night you called me drunk and upset.

To tell you the truth,

I admire that you're a beautiful mess.

The way you reeled me in

then cast me out again.

And the way you're the reason for the tear stained sheets on my bed.

I don't know if this is "slam" or not, but I wrote it to channel some heartache. Enjoy.
