The Truth

On the outside she smiles But really she is just done crying She is the happy one, trying to save everyone else But inside she is secretly dying She laughs all day long But she's just trying to stop the tears from falling Everyone sees who she pretends to be No one knows, that every night, she lies on her bed bawling She knows that no one cares She knows people will give up on her So now, she is her only friend Everyone who knows her stares and whispers She wants to be herself again She wants to be who she used to be She just wants to be ok All she wants is to be pain free She wants to be perfect She wants to be pretty and thin But she knows she never will She's fighting a fight she knows she'll never win
