The Truth

your eyes stare blankly,

as the world stares back.

daring you to look within,

to their webs of lies.

to see beneath the anger,

to their true and penetrating hurt.

with words of venom,

keeping themselves alive,

without the screaming tears,

and slowly draining freedom,

they would surely fall to nothingness.

your eyes stare ahead,

no fear of their fire,

through their mist

the confusion is gone.

through your vision of black,

with no light to keep you going.

you found the hate, anger, and destruction.

you have found the truth.
