Truth

Distant meomries

bound by hazy white

cloudy,empty seas

blocked by shrouded light

False truths clamoring

with flashes of the past

Fleeting thoughts simmering

locked up mind, free at last.

Pushing, fighting forward,

confusing the concious mind

locked up,my just reward?

warrant quickly signed

leaving the soul free to battle

with thoughts from every side

small lies, no longer little

compared to memories inside.

The ink, the pen,

my wings of freedom be

no longer lost, no need to be found

I write so I may see.

I write to free my mind, to let out anything I cant keep pinned inside. To me writing is not something you control or command, it is a gift that comes and goes as needed to set my thoughts at ease. This poem was written for just such a purpose, when I was struggling to find something to write and was frustrated when my mind consistantly drew blanks. As soon as I let myself go, let my hand take over and stopped worrying about what to write, the words formed themselves and fell into place;it was just like a puzzle whose pieces are falling into place.
