Truth is...

I don’t miss you like you think I do

I don’t miss your kiss, touch, or those romantic afternoons

I mean sure that was all great

But there was more too

What I do miss is your big mouth, your folly and sass

I do miss the times we sat on the grass

In your backyard as you gave me your life in an ear-full

We loved each other for the others sake and that time did pass

I’ll just say it

You lost yourself, and I lost you too

You live for self, and I fear for you

I don’t miss any connection relating to lust

Clearly that’s how we lost our trust

I only miss that I knew you and you knew me

If ever you could speak my name there might be

A chance that we’ll be friends again

But just take your time, I know that we

Will be friends once more
