The Truth About Love
It's a spew of lava that burns your skin to the bone
It's the call of darkness that waits to take you under
It's the cry of agony you yell before giving in to your demons
It's the permanently branded scar on the back of your hand
It's the feeling of dying over and over again
It's the desire to stop breathing and dunk your face into boiling acid
It's coughing up dirty blood and vomiting up your internal organs
It's coming to the parlor of a spider, while forgetting you're a fly
It's having your neck snapped and your vocal cords ripped out
It's being glued to your seat, while knives are thrown at you
It's the lips of poison ivy, it's venom quenching your need for pain
It's like little crystals pressing themselves into your pores and squeezing through your bloodstream
It's like your fingers are stuck in a freezer, so freezing cold, it's burning hot, like fire
It's like a iron cage that will never let you go
It's like waiting
It's like trust, breakable as a twig, waiting to stab you in the back, to kill you slowly, intimately, even after you surrender your senses
It's like a secret that gets under your skin, determined to ruin and corrupt you and leave you all alone
And that's what love is.
