The Truth of Being a Leader

Location

Some people are born leaders.

Other people are born followers.

Leaders can be followers,

but followers can't be leaders.

I am a leader, hidden deep within the soul of a young woman with introverted characteristics.

For years I thought I was a follower, but then it emerged.

A new feeling, of control and helpfulness.

A feeling of compassion and usefulness.

Being a leader can be scary.

Being a leader can be a great feat.

Being a leader requires enormous amounts of strength and sometimes I just want to quit.

But I can't.

Being a leader is in my bones.

It is in my soul.

It is in the very air I breathe.

And without it, I will have lost a piece of me.
