Truth Through Poems

Once I knew a charming girl

Who had smiles like a pearl

She would laugh and laugh all day

And would be your shining ray

She would joke and kid around

But her poems seemed weighed down

They would portray fear and grief

Sorrow seemed to act as chief

I would question and observe

To find her true self obscured

It became clear to me then

It occurs time and again

So I learned to wait and see

Truly what kind of person one may be
