Truth Within
I had a dream tonight
A dream of a king in a world unknown
In a world unknown he sat on his throne
Lost inside his head
A mind not yet freed from the torment
A Remedial torture of his tragic duty
Stressed from the strain of mind
Trained to hold the thoughts of hurt
As he remembers a past of violence
His beard stained with the tears of one thousand years
Of memories and remorse for what he's done
In a moment of realization he stands tall
Shouting out
"Here I am I stand a man
A man untamed by the grains of sands
left in my shackles of iron
man made chains held in my hands
a man not made by man
but a man made king.
Lost only to love and kindness
frequently i am visited by the pain
the strain of my collisions
and i have learned
when I collide I lose myself
When we collide we break apart"
as the hatred courses through his veins
the gold surrounding him turns grey
the color vanishes from his world
He screams out
"I look around and I have nothing
I am nothing and never will I be more
As I look into the eyes of these suffering people
I find I do not want to feel
I don't want to feel anymore
take it away.
My pain
my suffering
my strain and strife
my love
my joy
my peace of mind
take it all away
and destroy the man lost in an empty shell"
the empty shell is me
the king so lost is you
a story of our world
another day is here
we are lost inside our minds
lost in a world of envy
lost in a world of gluttony
lost in a world of greed
we are the beginning of our own ends
The king is you
the king is me
the king is us
