Truth's Grasp

Beneath the lies of the smiles of every man woman and child

There is a truth irrefutably present through the mask of the forever unseen

But how far then does it measure if the hidden actuality remains unclean

Although you may prance through meadows of light your soul still compiles as it is- defiled

Your heart may be near the light but that itself it cannot wield

I cling to the past hoping, longing for the legitimacy of my fate to be concealed

Due to my deeds that I plead be forgotten

Though I know they will stay to cause me to be always rotten

And one day I know the shadows that hide me will stray and I revealed

Leaving me for all eternity is my so called innocent fame

Never can be anything more of me as long as my life before me is but the same

I can walk in the light but it will never arise

Within me I can never see his immortal eyes thus locking my demise

In every essence I will always be but a lame

I discern this notion always never to be fake

This is my fate that I have come to know that haunts me while I lay awake

In my bed I sit here internally unfed

Wearily wishing to be warmed by dreams to conceal me in my bed

Then comes a noise from the depths of hell empowered by thy fiery lake

Searching for someone it stops near me the gap not wide

The protection of my window all together has left my side

My window separates all its pieces now alone and undefined

A creature begins to stir and climb forth and now I can feel safety fleeing from my mind

And I say “I fear not thee” not shaking though I lied

Truth of my past then returns to me smoldering me beneath the flood

As the silhouetted figure approaches me drenched in dark red blood

A smile crosses his distorted face

Quotes he: “You know why I come with a mace”

Like soapy suds purifying my hand covered in mud

He comes to rebuke my innocence washing away the stains that by me I am bound

All together I finally feel no longer lost but now found

A light has suddenly dawned by what it seems

Then it rehabilitates while its immorality destroys all balance, in blazing beams

It draws nearer ripping away at my spirit, murdering my beloved lying now in hell’s mound

I cry out in vain screaming in horror as my guts fly out across the tile

I clash with the monster, for all its done, swinging steady blows for a while

But as I grow weary it only begins to grow stronger

And the fight I know will go on no longer

My heart shattered like the mirror broken and lying isolated in a blood pile

I only have one thing to say: “Who are you to do such deeds?”

It comes forth and now I can perceive who has planted such seeds

The face distinguished is one I know well

And surely it does not come from hell

Now I discern unquestionably where my life leads

For staring back at me is I

No! This must be a lie!

But, it makes perfect sense

For no one can escape the truth of their past so dense

Truth of my history now stares back at me- who is ready to die

No more external harm however comes to me but rather says he:

“I am you and you are me

Never can you run, now don’t you see”
