Smile the pain will be over soon

He hurt you…he cheated…he forced you

Because he loved you??

You walk through the halls scared he will be behind you

You laugh about it with your friends but cry into your pillow every night.

You relive the pain, the fear, the heart breaks every night.

When will it be over….

Nowhere feels is safe from him

All because he loved you?

Days….

Months…

Years?

That’s not love he did not love you.

On old friend messages you because somehow some way he sees past what your friends can’t.

He says he is only there as someone to really talk to

You push away, you know this game

He will tell you it’s “because he loves you”

You refuse to fall for that again

And yet he lets you vent

He lets you cry

You learn to relax again, no looking over your shoulder and hiding

When you get sick, he brings you chicken noodle soup

When you fail a physics test, he helps you study harder

When you want to change everything about you, he will support you until you are happy.

Why? Why care? Why help? Why….?

Because he truly loves you.

Because I love you….
