Try to Get Inside

It’s cold outside

Inside we could run

But the wind wouldn’t make that fun

As it speeds by

Our rushing bodies

Chilling us to the bone

But we get inside

To warmth

Faster.

Or we could walk,

Arms wrapped around the body

And the wind would be still

Not flying past

With its cold chill

But

It would take us longer to reach

The warmth.

Either way cold hugs us

In its frozen embrace.

Or we could sit on the street

And not use our feet.

By the cold we would still be beat

But at least we wouldn’t have to move.
