Try Living It
Are you okay? Why are you crying?
"because everyone around me thinks I'm lying"
No one believes me when I say
"This is what is wrong today"
I know my body and my mind
You'd think they'd be a bit more kind.
I've been doing this for almost 3 years...
I've done my research and shed many tears
They don't trust me, but my surgeon lied
And I know that its his word against mine
They'll take his side because he has a degree,
But really, now, how fair is that to me?
It's not fair at all, I'm glad you see
Just how much harm he has done to me.
Physically and mentally I am tired
I really wish that surgeon would get fired.
I've had enough of all this crap
I just can't seem to get out of this trap.
I can barely walk up the stairs on a good day
Days like this I am really in a bad way.
But they will say I'm capable.
They think I'm crazy because of my psych history-
Apparently now that makes me a drug seeker
It's so far from the truth, it's completely absurd
And yet no one will take me at my word.
All I have to say to that is try
To live a day in my body and see-
You'll cry.
