Trying

I’m trying hard,

I really am,

I need to get up,

But I fall back down,

My heart is heavy

And weighs me down,

I need some help,

I need to try

And dig myself out of this pit,

This bottomless abyss,

Before the sand piles on top of me,

And buries me completely.

I have been writing poetry for 5 years now and I have a collection of over 600 original poems I've made. I submitted a poem to Appelley Publishing and was published in the 2018 addition of their poetry book. I love to read and write, and I have a cat and a hamster.
