Trying Day By Day

How do you tell the person who shattered you that you are trying to glue the pieces of yourself back together?

How do you look at a familiar face and push down the fear of rejection and pain you felt because of them?

Avoidance only gets you so far and bottled emotions aren't known for their stability.

You tell yourself you are fine, just don't look too closely.

Tick tock goes the timer counting down to the next breakdown.

It becomes so much a part of you that it's scarier to let go of the pain then to grasp it tighter with the intention of never letting go.

Suddenly a light reaches out to you, with kind eyes and a smile so magnetic you can't help but feeling drawn in.

Tick tock, choose fast. Face the fear or keep running?

Tick

Let me help you. How?

Tock

Slowly and day by day.

I feel less broken, not perfect but trying.

Little but little I forgive them.

How do you tell the person who shattered you that you are trying to glue the pieces of yourself back together?

With help and a spark of bravery.
