Trying to Fix a Broken Relationship

Dear Sleep,

Hey. 

It's been a while 

I don't know why I'm writing this 

I guess I just miss you 

I miss us

What we used to be 

So close 

So in sync 

We've been drifting apart for a while now 

I haven't said anything before this 

But I noticed and it's been so damn hard

We see each other every day 

I think we both know it's not the same 

I think we both know it's mostly my fault

Ever since high school started I've just been so busy 

I understand that this is not a good excuse

I need to make more time for you in my life 

I know you won't believe me 

But I promise that this year I'll try harder 

I hope for the both of us that I can do this 

I have a bad habit of prioritizing other people and things 

But I finally realized that they don't mean anything to me 

If I don't have you 

I've been a mess ever since we started getting distant

My friends have noticed 

I'm less patient

I have no focus

I'm over emotional 

I need you back in my life 

And yes, I have made so many mistakes 

But I swear

If you let me 

I will work so hard to make them right
