Trying to hold on to the Day
To the soft touch of your hand
The gentle caress of your love
I whisper, for
Words which have no meaning are often the sweetest
The flutter of your eye lashes betray that you are awake
And i reach out to touch you
To make sure you are not a dream
You give in to your hunger
As you leap on me
Causing a cascade of blankets
To slither down our bodies and expose our secrets
Laughter and love fill this moment
Like a sunbeam reaching through the window to fill the room
And i don't want to let you go
I have not had my fill of loving you
You're dancing away with the wind
And my hands come back empty
As i stretch to grasp you
You have disappeared once again
Like the sun in the night you are invisible
You are lighting the moon
But i can no longer touch you
I strain to hear your words
Because something is better than nothing at all
I call to you in my dreams
Can you hear me?
I miss your body, your heart and your soul
And i beg with words that simply aren't clear
Maybe you can understand them
And find your way to me
But you are always so far
Your fingertips just out of reach
So i shall miss you
And it will always be night until you return
