Trying to love after abuse

The blue like that fades over your pale skin

the moon that shines and reflects off your eyes

the way your hands slide down my back

my head resting on your shoulder and my lips brush against your neck

your arms so tightly around me

holding on as if you are about to lose me

it all crashed down in that beautiful hot mess

flashbacks that made me turn

worlds that made me flip

your body that paralyzed me

you put me in a trance

you for the sake of vanity and being saved

I shoved it under me

I took care of myself

I sang deep words of love

I lifted myself back on you

told myself it was okay

kissed your lips and fell in love

it was hard

but darling when I kissed your lips that night I felt everything disappear.

It was just you and me.

It was just us.

It was just us.

us.

I can't get over how amazing it was.

It was us.

Our arms wrapped so tightly around one another.

I held onto you as the flashbacks came.

I cried into your shoulder and held on for dear life.

I was drowning.

I was choking.

But how I want to be with you.

You listened.

You waited.

You sat.

You loved.

That was the most beautiful kiss we had in the dark of the blue light.
