The Tsuchinoko

A scaled senior from those that know

one born of Japan

with a story of its own that most don't know

its lore no pantheon could know to claim

for they're named Tsuchinoko 

This rather peculiar snake is quite a wildcard

as it's only a myth

its discriptor claims it with colors close to something charred

this Tsuchinoko is quite short and plump

something thought to be a moving log

while it's said to be dangerous

the Tsuchinoko chooses to be docile

as those that choose to be foul are indeed the danger

An old folktale to be sure

however now, in this time with no danger

the Tsuchinoko is no longer a stranger

as many in Japan know of the snake

applauded for its ridiculous nature
