I’m in a rut

It’s dead

All this sappiness I prided myself in-

It’s gone stale

And for once, I’m beginning to notice

Things cannot stay like this forever

Otherwise there’d be no growth

And this salvation of mine would simply become something to grow out of

I cannot allow that, for this is not the height of my abilities

I need my reality dashed

So while I work on mending back some of the pieces,

I can create something truer than this mush I have now

It may be appealing, in a shallow way

But it isn’t eternal

I must strive for something that is
