Space Traveler

By

T.S.Zakem

Apollo 11 was the first space crew

To land on the Moon and come home too

Our country did something no one else could do

Hooray for the red white and blue

We dispatched six more into space

Apollo 13 had to drop out of the race

They all found the Moon a desolate place

Doesn’t look good for NASAs case

Now it was time to do the other thing

Unmanned projects to space we’ll sling

Then the Shuttle and Space Station will bring

Multi-cultural Astronauts to wing

So it’s back to the Moon we’ll go

And build a station for knowledge to grow

An international endeavor will show

A United Space Force don’t ya know

Space exploration is a dangerous affair

Many have lost their lives I swear

So glory to the men and women who take the dare

And we give them our admiration and a solemn prayer

Our Father in Heaven we do pray

To guide them in their charge today

Thank you for blessing their humble ship

As they embark Earth’s mighty grip

They venture to the star dusted sky

Because of the grace of you Lord on high

We put their lives in your loving hands

For they are present day explorers of novel lands

Lord have mercy on the motley squad

As they journey through you mind dear God

In Jesus name

Amen
