The Tuition of Dreams

Location

Tell me why you lied.

Why you said we could achieve our dreams.

When you knew the truth of it all.

You can only achieve your dreams if you have enough money.

We’ve only given our absolute BEST

We pushed ourselves,

stayed up late,

cried,

but pushed through it.

Only for us to reach this time

to realize

all those nights of lost sleep,

all those nights of writing till our hands cramped,

all those tears wept due to  our school-born fear of not being good enough for college,

were all for naught.

You want your dreams?

Do you have $60,000 dollars for it?

You didn’t push yourself hard enough.

Stop lying.

Stop lying.

Stop.Fucking. Lying.

Tell them the truth, they’ve only given you their best,

They deserve the same from you.
