Tukwila

Tukwila

A small city

South of Seattle

Foster High school

Extremely diverse, but

With low graduation rates

They say we cannot graduate

Nor succeed in this terrifying world

But we, as the students from Tukwila, say

Otherwise. Many of us are aspired to become

The first in our family to graduate high school and to

Attend a four-year university. We dream of having a job

That pays enough so we can support the people that have

Made us to become who we are. My parents have sacrificed

Everything in Vietnam to come to America just so that their kids

Will have the tools and opportunity to make be successful and to

Leave an impact in today’s world. To make our parents sacrifice

All worth it, I have made a goal to attend a four-year college

So that my brothers would follow my lead; we want to

Help our parents be stress and financially free.

We will use the city of Tukwila not as an

Excuse, but a motivation to do well.

For our family, and the city

The two thing we love

The most, we call

Home, I will

Do it.
