Tulip
A bulb representing an idea;
The only light in a dark room.
Beautiful to those longing,
Treasure to the living,
But worthless to the dead.
The only light in a dark room.
Flowering as storms set on the mind;
Never lost to sentiment.
Something so powerful it’s unbelievable,
A bulb representing an idea.
The livelihood of many,
Life’s work and dreams bundled.
A bulb representing an idea.
Something one prays never to lose,
The only light in a dark room.
A bulb representing an idea;
Hinting at something much greater.
The only light in a dark room,
For that’s what the mind is.
Timeless though belonging to mortals
So powerful yet it can’t be utilized,
Born, but not from a woman.
So curious these things are,
The only light in a dark room
A bulb representing an idea.
