Turning Back

I sit alone and listen Listen to the silence surrounding me I feel my mind begin to wonder I start to wonder about my past I have made so many mistakes How can I turn back now? I start thinking about the present I keep on sinning each and every day How can I quit doing wrong? I start to wonder about my future I will face many hardships ahead of me How can I stay strong? Then it hits me Like a beam of light bearing down on me I remember something that struck my eye once "God is a sun and a shield" That is how I can turn back That is how I can quit doing wrong And that is how I can stay strong With God as my sun and God as my shield.
