Turning Purple
Opening my eyes
glued shut by the memories
glazed by dried blood
no matter how many tries
My bruises are healing
no hand to hurt me
where were you...
you deserted me
They told me you cared
but i saw the welts
you destroyed me
the weight... I bared
I turned into a machine
a weapon of sorts
a barrier in my mind
you made me contort
I shielded my past
I held a grudge
I used my anger
to make my hatred last
I saw you one day
out of the blue
I wiped the tears away
because I finally saw you
Locked away
restrained against authority
you couldn't come near
I had to pray
I've never sensed fear again
because what is left?
I have seen the world as it is
what we have we must attain
I have turned purple
I have my wounds
but nothing hurt worse
but seeing the evil in you
