Turning Tides

Sun, 11/15/2015 - 15:34 -- klurrr

She glances over and half-smiles

and I smile back

and my heart swells and my body shakes

and my thoughts tell me to

kiss

her

But I don’t

because here we don’t do that

don’t express that

don’t encourage that

here we don’t

let love be love

She comes right in

without knocking

and I’m sitting so awkwardly

and my face turns red

and it’s not the sun

she is the sun

And I am the moon

and we fit but

are always on opposite sides

and we can’t cross

because she is life

and I am sleep.
