Turtle

I spend most of my time being a maid

In a house that holds my family but

I’m just a stranger that’s here on extended stay until I am 18

I am just an emotional punching bag

And sometimes an actual one

4 more years

3 more years

2 more years

Counting down the time my extended stay ends

But as it gets near I’m scared to know what happens after that

I don’t have any money yet

I don’t know how to drive

I can’t pay for college tuition

Should I stay for two more years and continue to be a stranger in a house that holds my family my own blood

And continue to be a punching bag

How will I pay for a place to live

How will I get to college

How will I get a car or a job with no experience

2 more years I say

1 1/2 more years

1 year and 5 months to decide
