Twilight Tranquility

The gaping mouth of the sea rests open to the stars

The sun drowns, cradled at the tip of the thin horizon

I gaze at the gray waves, alight with the fire of the sky

And the pier that wanders into the unknown seas

The window of the sky draws its silky curtains

And the effortless beauty of Mother Nature's dress

Draws me across the salted wood of the docks

And I finally join the scattered silhouettes

Of the sleeping boats cloaked in silent repose
