Twisted Love

Another bruise around my eye

Im running

running out of lies to tell

i ran into the door

i fell down the stairs

why can't i tell the truth

he hit me again

Another "heartfelt appology" grazes my ear

He's trying

trying to be a tell me he will change

he wont throw me into a door

he wont push me down the stairs

why do i believe him when i know

he'll hit me again

Another trip to the emergency room

but this one i can't remember how i got here

i wake up in a bright room

broken ribs

broken arm

broken leg

broken heart

he promised

but this is how he shows his love

so when the doctor relucantly releases me to his care

i smile

maybe just maybe

he wont hit me again
