Twisted Lullabies

Crimson satin, inky lace
Alluring smile fixed upon equally alluring face
The tilt of her head, the grace of her walk
Movements defying the tick of the clock
Eyes fixed on a child sitting near
With just a few words, he will go with her and never fear
Her strange words and tales of a magic place
Her dark hint of animalistic grace
And I know this child will not be seen again
For he has followed the fey through the hill and the glen
Gone with them to their homes under the hill
Promising to be away only one night, until
He goes outside, to find a hundred years gone past
Yet there are no traces of it upon his face
And so he goes back under to the place
Where gods walk among men, and one can live in luxury
But this is a home for no child to be
Where secrets and lies form twisted lullabies
And you can see the madness within every pair of eyes
A child will be lost in this place
His spirit will fold up and leave him without a trace
Of life or love or hope
He will become empty because he was unable to cope
With the lies, anger and the darkness
Present in every moment
And with empty eyes he looks out the window and prays
For someone to take him away
For someone to free the lost girls and the broken boys
Whose lives were treated as nothing but toys
For something more to hope for
A place to sleep that's not the floor
Those whose lives are scarred,
Who live behind bars
Who were led astray by fairy tales
That took all the wind from their sails
Let us answer their cries
And show them the light
