Twisted Perfection

They say I'm just a pessimist

But they don't have a clue

They help the girl who cuts herself

 While I'm stormy and blue

They say I'm fine.

I'm overreacting

but I feel like I'm drowning

They say it all gets better

That someone will fix me.

But I don't see why you would fix

something that really isn't pretty

They tell me I am beautiful

while holding up a mirror

I hopefully peer inside

Hoping to see the beauty that is "here"

All I see is a tear stained face

And a broken heart

The girl with a tough face to hide the weaker  part

Her skin is tough to keep her safe from the insults in the pain

Inside she cradles and revives the hopes who where slain

All she wants is someone who can honestly say

That she's beautiful

 radiant as the day

That she's the sun and they're the sky

And that they will never be apart

The tough girl

Just wants back the other half of her heart
