TWO ADVENTURERS

We took to life’s highway

April 22, Saturday

It wasn’t to our taste

We were thirsty, for something risky.

Our search wasn’t for a peaceful abode

We were two adventurers, who wanted to try the dangerous road

Let’s test ourselves

Let’s see how far it would go.

Trekking to where the heavenly flowers grew

We laid back, enraptured by the view

Sometimes stumbled, sometimes fell

Pain and agony we endured.

Like the glistening river that keeps on flowing

Never gave up, we kept on going

Some days sleeping on beds of flowers

Others on a make-do bed of thorns.

When the nights howled, I shivered with fear

Holding my hand you were always near

Every night grew darker and colder

You pulled me in, closer and warmer.

Here comes the climax, it wasn’t our supposed ride

Now we had to walk down the dark and dangerous mountain side

But our love didn’t wither

We still stuck together.

Never could, never would pull us apart

For we knew what we signed up for from the start

So darling, be prepared

We’ve still a long way to go.

Baby, our search wasn’t for a peaceful abode

We were two adventurers, who wanted to try the dangerous road

Let’s test ourselves

Let’s see how far it would go.
