Two-Face

They say I'm one thing then aother,
man claim they know me well,
yet that could not be far from the truth,
my decieving smile seems to buy me some time

from my foolish mother,

my overbearing father

who no longer asks,

my brothers the prodigal sons

stay well within each other reach

leaving me alone once more as the sun rises and falls for the moon to take its place

and my friends  well,

they just don't know me like the back of their hand

the once white angel is tainted black

every moment planned out ahead

when I smile it is strained

my thoughts aren't rainbows and unicorns at all

they are dark and unforgiving like the joker at times

yet there is no batman that catches my mind

he isn't there to stop my thoughts

he isn't there to save those around me

he isn't there to pull me from the darkest parts that taint my soul

so instead I'll watch and smile from time to time,

looking for a sun and a moon to keep me from falling into the dark

I'll keep a smile instead of a frown

I'll laugh, and still my cries

my tears won't be seen as ones of pain, but of laughter instead

but you'll never know when

I'll lose my mind
