Two Faced
Ima start thinking out the box time for the world to let me out my cage, one of my best friends says that people are like paper they're two faced, they have a side to fool the blind and another to make ya look great, let's dumb it down a little bit that's saying superman was Clark Kent when he washed his cape, and could fly to the moon while he waits on his strawberry banana shake, it’s funny We only hold hands when a link in our chain has fallen, only weep for our brothers problems when he's in a coffin, say I live life to the fullest when I enter each situation with some caution, say I would give anything to fulfill my dreams when i'm sitting on my bed regretting life in my room which I call my home office, I'm two faced, goes out in public saying how's my hair look then goes back home and takes off the topay, say I'm not racist but on a hourly basis I use racial slang, so I come to saying nothing has changed, but we all say we want to end poverty but can't feed one another, let's feed all the children of Africa but can't give our neighbor a cup of sugar, I don't get it I really don't get it why is Philadelphia the only city that loves it's brother, I just noticed we stay judging people for their past descriptions, well news flash the past is history present has passed and the future is present, and I still gotta teach myself that lesson, I'm tryna get through like I have no service and I'm tryna send a message, cause I know if I keep thinking like this I'll be alone by the age of 27, wow its funny how math works debt plus doubt equals depression, money is power so is knowledge is that why every year they raise college tuition, man I can't believe they even made school a competition, proves that this is the land of oppression, a land that preaches peace, oops excuse me land of free, or should I say land of no sleep, but the only way we could get peaceful sleep, is if you're dead on the street, or you get mommy or daddy's pills and start to OD, we're two faced quick to judge but get heated when they start to judge us, quick to stab your friend in the back but yell there's no one I can trust, see I am two faced, stressing over the change that I make, instead of focusing on the change I make, welcome to America home of the blind and land of the fake, and if you don't believe me look in the mirror and you too will see, the other side of your face, well it Might be a little difficult to see under makeup lies and social grace, and just show I'm not one side let me take off my mask so you can see I'm two faced, I'm that piece of paper, that no one wants to use cause every line is full of scribbles on both sides, I'm insecure well T what are you insecure about, Nothing and that's where the problem lies, cause you see open books don't get read, they get closed, and put back on the shelf, now I know what you're thinking, this is one of those typical poems where I ask the question who am I, well truth be told I'll ask that question when I finish this poem even when I reach my last breathe I'll say who am I, so really the question is what face is the truth, see little did you know, my confidence courageously covers my cowardly tribbles, so yea I'm two faced, minimize my talents cause I want to be too great, forever stuck in a rabbit hole, and every mirror I pass I see a man that's different, so I'm two, wait no, I'm not two faced, I'm just walking through wonderland
