Two Individuals

I am caught between

between friendship and relationship.

Can you cheerish a friendship too much?

To the point you can only stay friends?

But can you stop yourself from loving?

The more we hold back the harder it gets,

others like us will chance it,

but I am scared to lose my favorite thing,

us, our friendship.

If we go down that path and it doesnt work,

I lose everything.

We would go back to nothing,

Back to two individuals.

Two different lives apart from each other.

I am lost without you, so friends is the only choice.

I would rather have us as friends forever,

than a short spring fling losing what we have.

I love that we are more than just two individuals.
