Two of a Kind
Callous, worn, beaten,
Trodden, dead, bruised,
Carrying all the weight.
First to go, in the cold.
First to feel the heat of sand.
Freckled, cracked, ruff,
Bleeding, sore, strong,
Taking the brunt of everyday.
First to make a move.
First to let things zoom.
Need to be cared for,
Rest a while, then good as new.
