Two Years

Distance creates a trainwreck

We all knew it was there, but we left it in the periphery of our heart

Acted like it didn’t exist

So close, but so far, yet so connected

Never was it a problem

Until now.

What felt like a easy, breezy walk

Now feels like a walk against strong gusts of wind

It had to end, and it did.

Not once, not twice, but everyday did we try not to end the fragile bond we had.

Why is distance such a problem?

Why did it create a trainwreck?

What’s the point in trying to keep something when we know it’s going shatter one day?

Right in front of our eyes.

All questions we don’t, and will never, know the answer to.

Two years. To adore. Too heartbreaking.

But one day- we’ll revive.

Look back, laugh a little, and brush it off.

Some things happen for a good time not a long time.

And no matter how hard we want it to last, what’s meant to happen will happen.

Nothing less, nothing more.
