Two years ago a fisherman

Two years ago a fisherman Sailed far out to sea. The sea, she drew him to a place Where he could better see The majestic, loving self That she would always be. Harbored in the calm embrace Of vast water and sky, No gale of wind or raging torrent Or wave so towering high, Upturned his boat, for pictured shore Where storm might cry Knows nothing of her beauty That eclipses those sands so dry. He cast not deep at first; She swelled yet timidly, But in that glimmering, cool misted Spray, soft touch of an ocean free, He saw in her and she in him Supreme serenity. The sea, she stole his heart With gentle, rocking caress. The sea so deep and wise Upon him love impressed. And so he stayed there on the sea, Enveloped in love and happiness.
