Two Years Strong

Young me didn't know you were going to leave, But you left.

You didn't leave on purpose but forcefully taken away.

You left us for two years and I didn't know what would've become of us.

I hate them for taking you away from us but I also love them,

for making me this strong young Latina.

Incredibly heartfelt. Thank you for sharing. It deeply saddens me that this is the state of how our country treats immigrants.

I hope you continue to write about your experiences with us.
