Type 1 diabetes

Sometimes you feel completely out of control You never know if you'll be high or low If either is severe, you could end up anywhere In the ER or even ICU Searching for a cure, but for now all we have is shots- At least 5 a day, and finger pricks too. Why does this have to happen to people like you? Innocent children, lives changed forever The only way to survive is for families to work together This disease knows no boundaries It doesn't care if you're age 18 months or 18 years People must find places to share The tips and tricks related to care Knowledge and support are the keys to success I wish you and all children the very best And with all the research I'm pretty sure That someday soon we'll see a cure And when we do I'll be so pleased That all of you can say- I USED to have type 1 diabetes!
