Type of love

Over the years I have learned that there are different types of love

My type of love took me to the movies knowing I wanted to go even though i already said no

My love accepted my flaws, every single one of them

My love would go on walks with me leading nowhere

she'd race home when i was standing at her house because she was the only place i could call home

Love danced with me after we ditched a party

They way we danced was slow, moving through the darkness to the hum of the lamppost, the sound of our out-of-sync heartbeats, and silence.

Love responded with aren’t we too close for you to say that when I asked her why she was touching my boob

Love . . . left me, in the most bittersweet manner her happiness was the sweetness, the fact that she was happy without me was the bitterness

But even so i know love would never tear my heart apart repeatedly like a dog with a chew toy

never squeeze my heart like a stress ball as if my emotions are the key to loves relief

love is respectful and understanding, love knows to trust and and not to objectify

Love is not supposed to monopolize or discriminate

Otherwise it isn’t love
