Typical Black Girl
My whole life people have told me
"Your not the Typical Black Girl you talk white"
oh no see their not talking about my vocabulary
their talking about my accent
the way I pronounce words
the way they come out of my mouth
excuse the fact that i'm country
would you rather me talk ghetto?
then will I be your Typical Black Girl
oh wait no, then we have the issue of my hair
the unnatural length , how soft it is
it has to be weave
because we all know the Typical Black Girl has to have that "negro shit"
well i'm tired of not being a Typical Black Girl
it dosen't matter that I have a accent
it dosen't matter how my hair lays
this has to STOP!!
a Typical Black Girl is someone who dosen't give up their seat because of the color of someone else's skin
a Typical Black Girl is somone who frees slaves through the Underground Rail Road
a Typical Black Girl is someone who fights for what she believes in
a Typical Black Girl is someone who aspires to be more than just that.
a Typical Black Girl is deeper than just the face of our apperance
a Typical Black Girl is within all black girls
